I understand. It's a hard thing to deal with; I know what it's like. That's why I'm helping spread awareness for anti-bullying. I just appreciate that you got something out of my art, and that it related to you somehow.
If you weren't my fav artist before, I think you might be now, lol. Well, as I said before, thank you. I just asked a lot of my friends to come here and favorite this. Hopefully we can get the message spread more.
Not everyone is capable of doing this. Some kids, and grownups, prefer the duck and cover approach, because they think it keeps them from retaliation should the bully decide to "return fire". They fear escalation, so they just take the abuse.
The problem is that this can lead to depression and social anxiety. I was one of those kids who was bullied and took it, because I didn't think I had any choice. I was unaware that a bully looks for easy targets and that if I presented myself as someone who could stand up for myself then the bully would most likely leave me alone. I also didn't have the support of the faculty, or so I thought at the time. And nowadays I suffer from crippling social anxiety that keeps me from approaching a girl I like or pursuing my passions.
So please consider that there are people out there who wouldn't be able to handle this type of situation, and that sometimes bullying can lead to someone doing something drastic, like the girl who was cyber-bullied and committed suicide over it.
So sorry manm i take back what i said. truth is. i was bullied as a child, and again at 13. god that was the worst. broken nose, broken cheek bone, whipped up and down with a rubber hose. my vacation was ruined cos my right eye was bloodshot and swolen shut for maybe an hour after waking up in the morning. worst part was i was too terrified to leave my house. for FOUR years I never went out, only to school made it into the paper the next day [link] for a £1.99 basketball. so i apollogise for my stupid thoughtless remark
Yep. It's bass-ackwards: the ones who should be named are "protected" and the criminals who do stupid stuff to get their names in the annals of history, like that guy who shot up those people going to see TDKR, get their names plastered over every newspaper in the country.
